We hypothesize that AF progression can be best limited by inhibiting this fundamental phenotypic change early in the process before irreversible changes occur. CAREBANK enables the identification of patients in sinus rhythm at baseline who will later encounter new-onset AF. By carefully overlaying transcriptomic, proteomic and histopathologic data, we narrow down the potential druggable targets and mechanistically test them using zebrafish models.
